Akshay Kumar and Siddharth Malhotra starrer ‘Brothers’ box office collections got a good opening in the domestic market where it earned a whopping Rs 15.2 crore on day 1. The collections got a big boost on Saturday too, raking in a massive Rs 21.24 crore. The third day was not such a big day, but still stayed in the two-figure bracket at Rs 15.45 crore.
However, as was clear from Sunday’s collections, the movie did not enthuse the audience as much as was expected and this was reflected in the collections on Monday too as the figure dropped down to Rs 6.23 crore and kept on sliding during the week. On Friday, which also saw the release of ‘All is well’ and ‘Manjhi’, the movie made Rs 1.4 crore (Day 8).
‘Brothers’ has however, managed to stay relevant throughout its B.O. run to collect Rs 78.4 crore in the first 10 days. The collections rise to Rs 98.02 crore, if we include the foreign take.
‘Brothers’, which released a day before Independence Day, is an action-thriller that also features Jacqueline Fernandez, Jackie Shroff, Shefali Shah and Ashutosh Rana. ‘Brothers’ is a remake of Hollywood movie ‘Warriors’.
