The Bhatia siblings (Akshay Kumar's real name is Rajeev Bhatia, just incase you were unaware) are seen enacting the 'Sitaharan' episode from Mahabharata, where Sita is tricked into crossing the Lakshman Rekha, and then abducted by Raavan.
In the video, Akshay and his sister can be seen wrapped up in quilts. While Akshay pretends to be a sage, his sister Alka reveals at the end that she is actually Rakhi (Sawant) and not Sita. The who act seems to be a skit based on a video.

Watch daredevil Akshay Kumar survive a fire accident on ‘Singh Is Bliing’ sets

OMG! Watch daredevil Akshay Kumar survive a fire accident on ‘Singh Is Bliing’ sets

Acting isn’t an easy profession and can send a star jumping through hoops, literally.

While shooting for the song ‘Tung Tung Baje’ in ‘Singh Is Bliing’, Akshay Kumar performed several risky stunts including one in which he had to jump through the burning hoops.

The 47-year-old star rehearsed the stunt repeatedly, but while shooting he made a little error in clearing the hoop. The result: he landed on the ground with the fiery hoop stuck in his leg.

Akshay Kumar showed the presence of mind and clambered out of the hoop. The crew, too, rushed in to dowse the fire.

It was a close shave and a reminder that those who flirt with fire get singed too.

But the daredevil Akshay Kumar was undaunted.

Buy a bigger house: Akshay Kumar's advice to Sidharth Malhotra

Akshay-Sidharth

A popular ad campaign goes, ‘It’s your life, make it large’. Well, this is exactly the advice that Akshay Kumar gave to Sidharth Malhotra when they were bonding on the sets of Brothers.
“Sidharth is still establishing himself in the industry and it is a known fact that when he started off in Mumbai, he was living in a small apartment. However, now that he has started doing well in his career, he is thinking of buying a house for himself as well. In a casual conversation, Akshay asked him about his plans. When Sidharth spoke about a buying a small house to begin with, Akshay suggested that he think big and pick up a bigger house,” informs a common friend.
Since the Khiladi is also an outsider like Sidharth, investing in a house is a key thing that he does suggest to his near and dear ones. He believes that while it brings in an element of security, it also acts as a drive for an individual to work harder.
“He told Sid that if he is thinking of a two-bedroom flat, he should actually pick a 4BHK. If he plans to bring in his parents, he should think of something even bigger. He even suggested that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to even keep on an entire floor to himself, as a house is long-term investment and a safe one as well,” the source continues.
When Sid expressed concerns over earning enough moolah to pay off a loan on the house, AK told him that based on personal experience, only if someone thinks a few notches higher would he be able to earn more as well. “Akshay told Sidharth that ‘Tu darr mat, bas le le; agar loan lena padta hai toh woh bhi kar, par soch mat kyonki paisa aa jaayega’,” the source adds.

Akshay Kumar: Movie About a Sardaar Doesn't Have to Be Directed by Punjabi

Singh Is Bliing

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who plays the role of a 'sardaar' in Singh Is Bliing, said that religion has no bearing on a person's skill as a director, while talking about the film's director Prabhu Deva, who hails from south India.

This is the second movie after Rowdy Rathore in which Prabhu Deva and Akshay have collaborated together.

"Religion is not necessary for directing a movie. Singh is Kinng, which was also on a 'sardaar', was directed by Anees Bazmee, a Muslim. Singh is Bliing is being directed by a south Indian, Prabhu Deva," said Akshay.

"It is not at all necessary that a movie on a 'sardaar' needs to be directed by a Punjabi. In India, all castes are one and we understand each other very well. Prabhu Deva has done a very good job," Akshay added.

While talking about the controversies surrounding his previous film Singh is Kinng, Akshay said, "I've taken care of all things that I had not done during Singh is Kinng. I don't want to show anything that the Sikh community or any other Indian community is hurt, like they were during Singh is Kinng. I had said 'sorry' then as well. This time I had one person from the committee to keep a check on the movie."

Akshay has also said that Singh is Bliing is not a sequel to Singh is Kinng.

Singh is Bling trailer: This Akshay Kumar sequel of Singh is King is just plain crass

Singh is Bling marks the return of all things Punjabi. There's Akshay Kumar in a turban, and he leaves no opportunity to break into a dance. There's an ensemble cast of turbaned men of different shapes and sizes, there's the signature bhangra background score, and the decibel levels are a mostly higher than usual Hindi films.
singh
Screengrab from the trailer.
Oh, wait, and there's a lioness. Yes, a scene from the trailer reveals Kumar walking up a slop with a lioness on a leash. We're quite surprised he was willing to take his love for animals to the next level, and we hope the dog from It's Entertainment isn't feeling left out.
The trailer of Singh is Bling looks like a series of jokes patched together, and also gives you a massive Singh is King hangover.
The film takes the audience around pockets of Punjab, introducing us to several characters, including Akshay's family and his love interest, Amy Jackson, who has a blink-and-miss cameo (but in a bikini, no less) in the trailer.
We aren't told much about the story in the three minute long trailer. This is Prabhudeva's first original directorial venture that isn't a remake of a previous south Indian film. Singh is Bling releases on 2 October.

Akshay Kumar is funny, romantic and kickass sardar in 'Singh Is Bliing'

Trailer: Akshay Kumar is funny, romantic and kickass sardar in 'Singh Is Bliing'

Make way for the King, for the Singh. Akshay Kumar is the funny, romantic and kickass Raftaar Singh in the trailer of Prabhu Dheva’s comedy actioner Singh Is Bliing.

Raftaar is a yokel from Punjab who is given the ultimatum to either marry the fat Sweety or get himself a job at the casino of his dad’s friend in Goa.

Raftaar goes to Goa but he is a klutz at everything he does. He also meets a pretty firangi girl (Amy Jackson) and falls for her head over heels.

Kay Kay Menon plays the villain Mark who plans to snatch Amy Jackson away from Akshay Kumar. But the Singh proves more than a match for Mark’s army.

Singh Is Bliing’ also features Lara Dutta as the translator between Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson.

The film is directed by Prabhu Dheva and produced by Ashvini Yardi.

‘Singh Is Bliing’ will release on October 2.

Sid & I are brothers from different mothers" - Akshay Kumar on Sidharth Malhotra

e verdict on Akshay Kumar's new riveting action-drama Brothers is out. Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra actually look like siblings!

Akshay Kumar couldn't agree more. "We are literally brothers from different mothers. We look the same, talk the same, and tell the same stupid Punjabi jokes. Our time together was so well spent that it's going to be hard to separate us after this film!"

However, Akshay Kumar is quick to point out that he and Sid play contrasting bros. "I am the matador. Sid is the bull. I play a strategic fighter. Sid is all brawn, I am all brain. This is what makes the whole twist so intriguing, we're two of a kind, same same but very different."

Akshay admits that physical resemblance was not the deciding factor in his solid unwavering equation with Malhotra. "It was important for the audience to realize that we may be blood brothers, we may look almost identical as brothers. But finally our physical appearance has to be different, as too our methods, our approach in the ring, our reason for fighting.

Akshay feels Sidharth is the sibling he never had. However there was no room for brotherly bonding beyond the sets.

Sighs Akshay, "If I was capable of bonding beyond work I would have done so. But on this film, neither one of us could move by the end of the day, so there were no late-night bonding sessions. But we got along so well on set that there was no need to carry our work pain to pleasure zones. We would both go home and ice our bodies to make ourselves capable of going through more pain the next day."

Twinkle Khanna knows why Indian men, including husband Akshay, worship their mothers

ith an impressive Rs 52.08 crore in its kitty, Akshay Kumar-Sidharth Malhotra-starrer Brothers has become the second highest opener of 2015 after Bajrangi Bhaijaan. While the Salman Khan superhit made Rs 27.25 crore on the first Friday after its release, the Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra film earned 15.21 crore.

Happily then, the earnings saw a 40% rise on Saturday (Rs 21.43 crore) but dipped significantly on Sunday. However, it is still being touted as Akshay's biggest opening till date. With a total of Rs 52.08 crore over the weekend, the film's collections are good.

Karan Malhotra's Brothers, that shows Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra as warring siblings, is the second double digit opening film for Sidharth. His last year's film Ek Villain had a massive opening of Rs.16.72 crore. Earlier, talking about the movie, Akshay Kumar had earlier said,  "Brothers was not an easy film to make. We worked hard. We started prepping for the film five months before the shooting. We got punches on our faces because the fight sequences in the film are mostly contact fights."

Talking about his fight sequences in Brothers, Akshay Kumar added, "The film has loads of martial arts. It has got the best action. I am a stuntman first, then an actor. The drama and emotion in the film are its USP. I am quite excited about the film. It took 52 days to shoot the climax of the film."

Brothers, presented by Fox Star Studios and produced by Dharma Productions, also stars Jacqueline Fernandes.

Brothers earns Rs 36.63 crore, but Akshay Kumar says not worried about box office

Superstar Akshay Kumar says he prefers to stay away from the pressure of box office by taking up characters which challenge him as a performer.

"Box-office number is actually a pressure. And that is what I don't want. So, I do a film like 'Baby', which has a limited audience and there are no songs. Many people warned me against it because songs are an integral part of Hindi cinema.
"It will affect the trade of the film by approximately Rs 40-50 crores. But I didn't pay heed to it. I wanted to give something new to my audience. If I will think about box-office collection, I will not be able to do diverse films," he said.
The 47-year-old actor's latest release "Brothers" has so far earned Rs 36.63 crore at the box office, according to trade analysts.
Akshay considers "Brothers" as his toughest film thanks to the hardcore action required for certain scenes.
"Brothers was not an easy film to make. We worked hard. We started prepping for the film five months before the shooting.
We got punches on our faces because the fight sequences in the film are mostly contact fights," he said.
Directed by Karan Malhotra of "Agneepath" fame, "Brothers" also stars Sidharth Malhotra, Jacqueline Fernandez, Jackie Shroff and Shefali Shah. It is a remake of 2011 Hollywood film "Warrior".

Brothers review: Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra’s movie gets dragged down by its over-wrought mawkishness

brothers review, brothers movie review, review brothers, brothers telugu movie review, brothers hindi movie review, movie review brothers, akshay kumar, sidharth malhotra, jacqueline fernandez, karan johar, karan malhotra, kareena kapoor khan, entertainment news, brothers entertainment news

Brothers’ uses a form of kinetic martial arts to foreground its story of two warring siblings, but it stays, at heart, a Karan Johar film : the crunching bones and spraying blood is as heavily underscored by we-are-family soppiness as it is with deafening background music. Result : a film that actually has a plot (officially adapted from Hollywood film ‘Warriors’, with shades of ‘Fight Club’ and ‘Rocky’ thrown in) riding on competent acts, but which squanders its advantages because of the treatment. David (Akshay Kumar) and Monty (Sidharth Malhotra) are estranged brothers. A deep wound from their childhood festers strongly, and when they face each other in a ring, they go for the kill. Or do they? Their backstory with a dissolute, drunk fighter for a father (Jackie Shroff) and large-hearted loving woman for a mother ( Shah) is effectively executed. So are the fight scenes. In fact, it must be the first time that there has been such extensive detailing of a high-tech arena, glittering with strobe-lights, lusty spectators, foreign fighters, excitable commentators ( Zutshi) in Bollywood. All of it—snarling fighters, hooded faces, uniformed assistants marching up the ramp to swelling beats–feels very WWF and Hollywood and expensively bankrolled reality TV, rolled into one. Both leading men are well muscled and handy with their slashing fists and feet : the ropey Akshay’s felicity with this `mixed martial arts’ makes his time in the ring believable ; the much more buff Sidharth too does what it is required, efficiently. Watch video Nice to see the near-forgotten Kiran Kumar, strutting his stuff in techni-coloured suits-and-ties as the magnate who wants to bring ‘Right To Fight’ – this fictional form of commercial combat– into India. So too Ashutosh Rana, who really needs to be among roles again. Shroff’s haggard face and deeply pouched eyes fit his part : depicting being dead drunk on your feet minus exaggeration is an art, and he does it well ; Shah’s care-worn mother has impact. The trouble lies in the way it is done. You can show sentiment without dousing it in sentimentality. ‘Brothers’ gets dragged down by its over-wrought mawkishness. The subplot involving Fernandez and a little girl with a serious illness is designed to jerk tears. And it has entirely superfluous songs, particularly an item number by Kareena Kapoor Khan which is so generic that she must have taken expressions and ‘thumkas’ from her previous ones and just rolled them out in this one. ‘Mukkas’ and mush can go together, but not when the latter threatens to drown the former. When the tough get going, audiences are happy to toughen it out too. Here we see the brothers go at each other, limbs snapping at each blow, and all we can hear is ‘bhaiyyaaa’.

Sonakshi Sinha-Akshay Kumar To Come Back With A Romantic Flick?

We hear that the junior shot-gun of Bollywood, Sonakshi Sinha has been approached for Akshay Kumar's upcoming project, Namaste England, directed by none other than Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who directed Namaste London. Few days backs, there were rumors doing the rounds that actress Kangana Ranaut has been approached for the film as the filmmakers are very keen on having her on board. But the latest reports of DNA says, "Sonakshi and Akshay had stopped signing films together after their pair began looking stale on screen. They decided to take a break from doing films together." "Meanwhile, Sona did films with Shahid Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Arjun Kapoor to break the monotony. It worked and now Vipul thinks they can be reunited on screen in his romance film set in England." In fact, the director also clarifies that Namaste England will be a romantic flick but won't be a sequel to Namaste London. Interestingly, the duo has already been seen together in many films, including Rowdy Rathore, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara, Holiday, Joker. Now when we will have Sonakshi and Akshay coming together for a romantic flick, we can assume it will be a treat to eyes for sure!

Akshay Kumar's leg caught fire while shooting 'Tung Tung Baje'

Well, Bollywood's action hero Akshay Kumar who believes in doing stunts himself landed up injuring himself while shooting his introductory song 'Tung Tung Baje' from Singh is Bliing. What we hear is that, while shooting for a stunt scene, Akshay had to jump from the fire hula loop. But while doing that his leg caught fire and immediate actions had to be taken to extinguish the fire.

A source close from the production team says, "Akshay sir speaks volumes of professionalism. Whenever it comes to doing stunts; he always prefers doing it himself and not using a body double. So while jumping from the fired Hula loop, Akshay sir's leg caught fire."

"Immediate actions were taken to put the fire off. Even after the accident, Akshay sir was adamant to perform the stunt again," added the source.

Singh Is Bliing that is presented by Dhaval Jayantilal Gada (Pen) & Grazing Goat pictures LLP, is produced by Ashvini Yardi and Co-produced by Akshay Jayantilal Gada, Kushal Kantilal Gada and Reshmaa Kadakia, starring Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in lead roles.
